Our mission is to shift our culture from a throw-away society to one where nothing is wasted and everything gets reused or transformed. We also believe in encouraging local entrepreneurship of climate-friendly businesses in our community, so many of our vendors are right in the Maryland/DC area. Our flagship line of body care, kitchen cleaners, and laundry products is made just 5 miles from our storefront. Our vendors are friends and community members who put their principles over profit. Our priorities include: reusable materials from sustainable sources like hemp, bamboo, ramie, sisal, silicone, metal; minimal packaging: shipped & sold in compostable/reusable packaging, if any; local vendors: chosen from the community around us, as much as possible; ethical purchasing: not tested on animals, mostly vegan-friendly, from like-minded producers; non-toxic ingredients: safe for you, your children, and other animals in the ecosystem! We are interested in supporting local activities and artists, by hosting clothing swaps and holding workshops. |
